\nStep 2 - shortlist and sort (15 minutes)
\nStart narrowing down and see what it looks like when we move 5 things from the brainstorm to each of these columns below.
\n
Step 3 - Start making connections (15 mins)
Have some fun and start working out how things connect from left to right, right to left. what's repeated in those columns, brainstorm ideas with someone who is close to you and your business and move toward better understanding what makes you uniquely you. Why does that matter? What's your position on it and why do you care?
Step 4 - Create something meaningful (25 mins)
This is going to be different for everyone, but can you connect some of these things to come up with something new? Turn it into a statement? Move some words around? Create a new statement, work on it and add more words to clarify what it means.
\nStep 5 - Create something tangible (25 mins)
Take that statement and as a team/ in collaboration with others in your business can you come up with something that has an impact in your business, for your business and the people running it?
Something that educates: A video, a pdf. For example if someone books a sales call with you can you prepare them to ‘be a better client’ before that meeting. So a prospect sees you, the owner on the video and knows exactly what they are getting into when they meet your sales person.
\nCreate a physical product: Say you figure out your team on the shop floor and warehouse aren't drinking enough water. Go get some branded and personalized water bottles for each team member. They dont look out of place and no one is mixing them up.
\nAn app or website: Something that makes things easier for the team, encourages collaboration and creates connection.
\n
\nThis is all about helping you get more connected with what you do, what your business does. Our goal here is to build something meaningful and fulfilling for the long term. And ultimately when you feel more connected it not only helps drive you but allows you to lead and inspire those working in your business and that will ultimately have an impact on the customer experience.
\nA central internal driver in your business can help drive the teams and people responsible for building that business.
\nI hope this helps. Have some fun with the activities they’re no good if you're not enjoying them and have an amazing rest of the week,

If you were wondering why this newsletter was a little late.
Me: Are you ready for bed?
My Kid:
Somehow all of a sudden, bedtimes were happening an hour later and wake ups were happening an hour earlier. For anyone who read my last blast , you’ll know my plan for reading and winding down in the evening went to shit last week. But as we reflect, adapt, reset and go again. It's really important to have something to anchor back to, in this case my time audit and schedule helped remind me “oh yeah, that's what i’m meant to be doing”.
Anyway, on to todays workshop...
What makes you uniquely you? Why does it matter? And why should anyone care?
This was one of the topics in a presentation I gave last monday (Jan 23rd). This idea of what makes you uniquely you.
Purpose, reason for being, Brand purpose. Before marketers got a hold of “purpose” and “mission” and turned it into a selling tool, Purpose helped owners drive their business because it granted a greater clarity towards their future, it gave them confidence and validity in the actions they take moving towards that future.
And, importantly it helped build an internal understanding and alignments for the people who actually run the business.
I don't like calling it Purpose, because of what It’s come to stand for in marketing circles. I do like Simon Sineks ‘why’. But that’s his thing. Maybe Superpower is the right way to look at the exercise I'm about to share.
This is for any of you business owners that need a little alignment and focus on the future of their success. Maybe even defining what success looks like.
This isn't a one and done workshop but a thinking exercise, purpose is something you need to arrive at. In my program I not only coach people but teach this to allow them to sit back down and go over this by themselves.
If any of this rings true let's get into the activities.
Step1: Brainstorm ideas using the prompts (20 minutes)

P.S. By the end of the week I hope to be back on course for the Friday blast and this week I'm going to send you what I said in the presentation I gave last week about developing your ideal customer as a way to bring together what I’ve said here and seeing how we build a business you love to work in;
2024 was quite the year for change and it doesn't look like the pace will be letting up in 2025. Below I’ve captured my biggest pieces of advice for navigating the business landscape as an entrepreneur in 2025. So what changed? The biggest shift I saw in 2024 was a slow down in consumer spending. And if people are spending less at the till, brands aren’t making as much money, agencies aren’t being given enough campaigns and people are getting laid off so even less money is being spent at the...
Hey, it's Sid here. It’s been a while since I sent anything out to this mailing list. Thanks for sticking around. I really do appreciate it. I've been working on content recently that we are getting ready to schedule on social media platforms. However there were a few topics that felt more personal that I would rather share with the people here than the people out there. 2024 was a hell of a year: we welcomed our new son to the family after a tricky pregnancy, followed by a month's stay in...
